A small team at a Bellandur tech startup needed a meeting room from a corner of their open-plan office. The managing director insisted on retaining visual connection between the enclosed room and the wider floor to prevent a closed-off, hierarchical atmosphere.
Built a floor-to-ceiling gypsum partition on two sides of the corner with a 1,200mm × 900mm frameless glass insert at seated eye level in the partition facing the main floor. The glass panel was fitted with switchable privacy film for confidential discussions.
The meeting room provides acoustic privacy during sessions while the glass insert maintains the visual openness the director wanted. Staff on the main floor can see when the room is occupied without feeling excluded. The privacy film switch has been used effectively.
