A new Koramangala restaurant wanted a bar area ceiling that would photograph well for social media and distinguish the bar from the dining floor. Exposed wiring from the original fit-out ran directly above the zone.
Suspended engineered wood slats at 50mm spacing on a black-painted GI carrier system, with the gap intentionally open to reveal the black-painted services above. LED strips integrated into the carrier rails glow through the slat gaps for a dramatic downward light effect.
The bar ceiling became the most photographed element in the restaurant, appearing in reviews across Instagram and food platforms. Electricians can still access services by simply sliding slats aside without any dismantling.
