A restaurant in BTM Layout was required by its health inspection authority to install a physical partition separating the food preparation area from the dishwashing and waste zone to prevent cross-contamination. The space was subject to daily water wash-downs.
Installed a 9mm fibre cement board partition with stainless steel trims at all edges and junctions. The board surface was sealed with a food-safe waterproof coating approved for kitchen use. A stainless steel door frame with self-closing mechanism was fitted at the opening.
The kitchen separation passed the health authority's re-inspection and the restaurant's hygiene compliance rating was restored. The partition surface has shown no deterioration from daily wash-downs over eight months of operation.
