An office building in Hebbal needed to enclose its roof-mounted generator in a weather-resistant enclosure to meet the noise attenuation requirement specified by the building's occupancy permit conditions.
Constructed a generator enclosure using 12mm fibre cement boards on a galvanised steel framework, with cement board selected for its non-combustible properties adjacent to the generator exhaust. Ventilation louvres were integrated at calculated positions for safe heat dissipation.
The enclosed generator room reduced external noise levels sufficiently to satisfy the building management's monitoring. The non-combustible cement sheet enclosure met the fire safety officer's requirements, and the occupancy permit condition was formally closed.
